auto filter problem

Occasionaly when deselecting the autofilter a header cell
is left with a non operational dropdown arrow, also
buttons on the spreadsheet above the header row for
running macros disappear.The header cells are on the 4th
row.
Any help much appreciated.

I've had similar problems.........the solution that worked for me was to be
SURE there is a completely blank row between the top of your header row and
anything else you may have above it, such as the macro buttons or titles or
anything...........

Hi Chuck,
Would hiding that blank row still achieve the same
results.
Just thinking of not reducing the amount of rows in view.

I'm not sure..........never tried that way............I just know if there
is a continuous "path" upwards from the header row, even if the values are
not in the same columns, it seems to mess up the AutoFilter
operation...........(but you could probably make it just one unit high,
effectively "hiding" it)..........
