Auto fill recipient's name

How do I configure Outlook 2000 to automatically fill the
recipient's name as I enter characters in the "To" field?
Outlook Express does this, why doesn't Outlook?

Because they are two different programs. Outlook 2002 and 2003 do have this
feature, but Outlook 2000 does not.

This feature did no appear until Outlook 2002.
Earlier versions used autoresolution. If you enter part of a name or a
nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]), Outlook
will attempt to resolve the name against your address book. If it can't
it'll red underline it and you can right click on the name to manually
resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future use.

Outlook 97 had "nicknames" How did that feature differ from the current
autosuggest?

Depends on what you mean. Outlook has always had a "nickname" field, but
only IMO mode (in Outlook 98/2000) would include this field when you did a
manual name resolution, Outlook 97 and C/W mode did not.
The other place the term "nickname" is used is as a saved resolution stored
in the AutoNameResolution cache (the NICK file).

You forgot to include the rest of this post. No way to know what you're
referring to now.
What you're referring to is autoresolution, which, as I recall, is the
answer I already gave you.

Those are about autoresolution.
