Auto Disconnect ?

I've been having trouble downloading a large file from
Symantec over my pathetically slow dial up connection.

Yesterday when doing something else and disconecting from
the net I saw the box offering to turn off auto
disconnect. Thinking it might help getm that long file I
turned it off. Made no difference, but now I can't find
how to turn on auto disconnect again. I've been in the
network preferences and the help index without finding any
mention of auto disconnect. Where is it ?
