I am currently running Win XP Pro with Office XP Pro 2002
(with Frontpage).
Before recent PC Upgrade I had Win Me with Office 2000
Pro and could configure my Outlook connection to dial out
every 30 mins or so to check for mail. This was useful as
I am connected by Modem with only single telephone line
and could leave the PC to collect e-mail without the line
being engaged all day ! (there was an auto dial button on
the Connection Mnager window , after 'remember User Name
& Password' . In Options you could ask to send an
automatic send /receive when offline ever ... Mins and
also to disconnect when this as done. All in all, Outlook
would (Could) dial out routinely to check for mail.
With XP, my dial manager does not seem to have an
automatic dial button, though relatee features are stll
in Options. All that happens is that the Connection
Manager window (pic of two Laptops linked by green bar at
top !) pops up at the expired period, but waits for
someone to press 'Dial' !!
How can I get an automatic dial out sequence set up ??
(with Frontpage).
