Auto Dailing - Connection Problem

G

Guest

Hi,

My computer keeps opening a auto dailing command and connection to the
internet. I have scanned my system with different anti-virus and spyware
programs, and have detected no viruses or dailer programs. My Anti-virus and
other programs (internet explorer, outlook express) are set to not auto dail.
The Remote Assistan in XP is also disabled.

Q. Where or how can I find a log/ indication as to what program is trying to
access the internet, or sending the dail command. (Win XP)

Disable AutoDial to Control Dialup Connections Manually

By default, the AutoDial feature in Windows XP connects the user to the
Internet automatically when an Internet site is accessed on the local
computer. Although this feature works well for most users, sometimes you
want
to control dialup connections manually.

To turn off AutoDial follow these steps

Open Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, and then double click
Services.
Double click Remote Access Auto Connection Manager.
Click Stop to shutdown the service, then set the Startup type at Disabled,
and then click OK.
Now your computer will never try to automatically dial up an Internet
connection. To connect to the Internet manually, use whatever Internet
connection you specified in Network Connections.
