Auto correct spacing between sentences

Is there any way to create an auto change that will replace my double space
after a period to one space? I can't break my habit of double spacing
between sentences, but I only want one space. I thought there was an option
to do this built into Word, but I couldn't find the option. Thank you for
your help.

Sorry, the AutoCorrect feature won't handle this. What you can do is set a
rule in the grammar checker (Tools > Options > Spelling & Grammar > Settings
Spaces required between sentences) to make it flag two spaces as an error.
If you wait until you finish editing the document, you can then run a
Replace to change period-space-space to period-space.
