Auto-Complete feature errors

hello,
Even though I have turned on the auto-complete feature, I
am unable to store id's and passwords as well as any
searhes I do are not stored. Any suggestions?

I have IE 6 (service pack 1)

interestingly enough, there are several of us who wish we
could turn-off, remove, or edit the auto-complete
feature.
