Auto complete email addresses not working

Hi all, I exported my email addresses from my old laptop using outlook
express as a csv file then imported them to windows mail via import. i ticked
all the boxes and i have made sure the box to automatically complete email
addresses when composing is ticked is actually ticked and applied.
Yet i still cant get email addresses to finish automatically
Please help :-)

This is a regressive, 'by design' feature in WM.

WM uses a separate list of the previous 29 addresses that you previously
typed in, they are stored in the Registry.

The best way to access all your contacts is to click on the To: in a new
mail window.

Thanks for the reply Mac, that explains alot, so is this to say that the
email addresses get tacked onto the list as they are used and dropped off the
other end when the 29 addresses are used?
