auto complete does not work

I am running microsoft xp professional at the office. I have lost the
ability to use auto complete at all. It is in the default mode as it is
supposed to be, but it will not access or utilize the autocomplete feature.
Is there something wrong with my settings?
 
Did you mean to say "Office XP Professional"?

When you say "AutoComplete" do you mean e-mail messages or are you
referring to the dynamic spelling correction capability or ?
