Auto Backup of Database

Hi,

I'm running Office 2003 in Win XP SP2.

Recently all my Access files automatic creates a backup copy of itself each
time I open and close them. The files comes in filename_backup form. After I
delete the backup copy, it'll come back again.

This does not happen on my other computer, thus I'm not sure if its some
settings on MS Access or XP inself.

Appreciate if anyone can assist.

Hi Izaaco,

Do you have the Compact on Close option set (Tools | Options... | General
tab)? This is about the only possible setting that one could select that
might be contributing to this problem.

You might have some subtle corruption creeping into your database. I would
try the steps outlined in my Access Links.doc Word document, on page 3, in
the section that is titled "My standard advice for attempting to fix minor
corruptions". You can download a copy from here:
