Greetings,

Here's an interesting problem that I've been having for the past
several days. I maintain a web site that has about 800 registered
users. I currently have 2 that cannot log on to the web site. In
fact, they are never presented with a prompt to enter their user name
and password. I'm using active directory on a Windows 2003 server.
All other users are able to connect, authenticate and use the web site
resources.

Here's what I've tried so far.

1. Cleared/delete all items listed under the "Browsing History"
option on the General tab of the Internet Options.

2. Added the URL as a Trusted site and changed the Custom Level to
"Prompt for user name and password."

3. Similarly, I tried setting the URL as a "Local Intranet" and
selected "Advanced" to add the URL and adjusted the level to
"prompt for user name and password."

3. Restart IE - still the same problem. Restart computer - still
the same problem.

So what gives? Why won't the option "Prompt for user name and
password" take effect????? Is there something else that I might have
missed?

Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks so much!

John
