I put two totally different clips into a movie, but I want one clip to only
have music and the one directly after that to only have audio from the video.
how can I do that?

mute the audio of the clip that you only want to hear the music track... and
split the music clip as needed over the other clip, and mute the part you
don't want to hear as the video is playing...

you need to be in the timeline view, and expand the video track so you also
see it's audio track....

work with both of the audio tracks to do what you want.
