Audio-Voice recording

This is probably the stupidest question but I am trying to find a program on
my computer to record and save a poem, my daughter wrote, as a file. I know
I have seen a voice recorder somewhere on it before but now I cannot find it!
Please help! If there is a program that comes with WindowsXP initial
installation, than I have it. I would appreciate any advice you can give.
Thank you.

search for sndrec32.exe and use that. its the default sound recorder that
came with windows xp, but it can only record about a minute of sound. there
is other stuff out there that you can get. try searching at

Here,

go into My Computer, click on Local Disk (C:). Then Click on WINDOWS you can
look at it so just click on "show contents of this folder" (if it shows up).
Then click on System32 you can look at it so just click on "show contents of
this folder" (if it shows up). Find sndrec32 double click on that. To record
more than a minute just click on the record button, let it play for a few
seconds, and the stop. Then click on effects and click on decrease speed a
few times. After you are done recording click on stop and then click edit
and click on delete AFTER current positition. And PRESTO you're done.
