Audio/video no sync

Ok so I am making a video and the clips and sound don't sync. I cant just
preview the video from a certain point. If I want the music and clips to sync
I have to start playing from the beginning and thats a hassle. I just want to
be able to preview a small section with the sound synced up where its suppose
to be.

Also maker will stop on a certain clip, the sound will still be going then
all of a sudden the maker will fast foward to catch up and I missed a bunch
of scenes in teh preview.

How to I get this to stop happening and how to I get the stupid sound to
sync with the vid where I don't have to start the preview at the beginning?

It could be that you are using files which are not compatible with movie
maker

As for MM catching up with the preview, this may be due to the above as
well, or that your pc is not up to showing real time preview of your movie.
The more effects, transition, music etc the harder it is for your pc to do
the work, so sometimes it can't keep up and so just skips to the right
point.
