Audio speed

I have created a movie and dropped in an MP3 audio file which is now playing
back at twice normal speed. I only have version 2.0 and don't have the option
to upgrade to 2.1 (work computer) so Microsoft's suggestion to fix the
problem doesn't actually exist in this version. Any ideas?
