Audio Source Plugin Error

I cannot play music, video movies or install any software 'automatically'
anymore. I have to do all these tasks manually now. I think this may have
happened after uninstalling software, but that is just a guess. Please can
anyone help me as this is causing me numerous problems when I try to add
music to my video movies that I make from my camera etc. It is like my CD
Drives do not recognise the discs.
