audio plays too fast

After installing WMP 9 on Win2K all my MP3s play too fast,
on ALL my media players. I've seen two other people
complain of this, with no reply listed. What is the fix
for this??? Would someone please slap me next time I
decide to download yet another microsoft product??

Need better sound driver. This is generally caused by the sound driver not
working properly or the wrong driver is being used.

When I play a CD through WMP it plays too fast. However,
the standard Windows CD Player plays the CD correctly.
This isn't a driver problem. I already upgraded the driver
files. I have tried all hardware accelleration settings
with no change. This only happened after loading WMP9. My
other CD burning software worked right, but now it plays
too fast too.

I have this same problem. I have tried reinstalling my
sound card drivers several times...but to no avail....
