Audio only in rear channel

I have a strange problem with Vista. I´ve seen many people having stereo
sound but doesn´t have 5.1, in my case it´s the opposite. I´m using ADI
AD1888 SoundMAX codec trough VIA VT8237R. I couldn´t get any sound so I tried
to change the configurations. Testing the audio on stereo I couldn´t hear
anything, but changing to 5.1 I only listen the sound coming out from my
speakers when it´s playing the rear channels... But I have common speakers,
2.0... I don´t know what to do... I´ve tried to remove the drive and can
Vista recognize and reinstalls it automatically... Someone could help me?

I have the same problem on my Creative Audigy 5.1 24-bit. You have two
choices that I can think of. If your speakers have an emulation option such
as my Z-680's where you can adjust the effect, adjust it to Stereo x2 or the
like. You might lose the center channel, but otherwise will still get
surround sound. 'Movie' mode would work also. Your other option is to plug
in the front channel cable that plugs into your PC to the rear (black) line
out jack instead of the front (lime-green) line out jack.
