Audio not playing in PowerPoint 2004

Audio (sounds and music) is not playing on a PowerPoint 2004 slide. If the
icon is double-clicked, nothing is heard. In presentation mode, no audio is
heard. The sound is up all of the way and the sounds play fine if the file
itself it double-clicked. Any suggestions?

The audio file has to be in the same folder as the presentation itself. It
cannot be saved elsewhere.

The audio is in the same folder with the preso. I am using a MacBook. I also
have no sound with Real Player. The file works fine on my PowerBook G4.

I thought this was it! I do not see a forum for Mac PowerPoint. Do you know
the URL?

No, this problem has not been solved. I still have no audio playing in
PowerPoint on my MacBook running 10.4.7 and Office 2004. When I add music
(.mov, .wav. mp3) from a file that is in the same folder with the ppt file,
the music will not play. Even when you double click it when in the edit mode,
the music will not play. However, if you double click on the file, the music
plays.
