Audio File Play very Slow

Does anybody have any advise on why my audio files play
very slowly. Including all my CD files.
 
What audio/media player are you using?

If it's "Windows Media Player" version 8 or 9...
Click the View menu
Enhancements
Click Play Speed Settings
In the Enhancements pane, move the Play Speed slider to
the speed at which you want to play the content.
1.0 is normal speed.
2.0 is twice the normal speed.
etc.
