No music files or CD's will play correctly on my PC (Windows XP). The sound
is distorted and VERY SLOW. I am using Windows Media player 9 and XP Service
pack 2 is installed. I have checked all my Device Managers. My volume levels
are set at a low level. Can you offer any help to me?????

WMP: You can reinstall it from "%systemdrive%\program files\windows media player\installer\mpsetupxp.exe"

WMP has the ability to change the speed of things that it plays; did you
accidentially turn that on (you won't be the first!). Look here:

wmp menu: view | enhanchments | play speed settings, single-click on
the "normal" link to reset it.
