audio and video keep getting unsynchronized

i am making a music video and i have made about 4 movies with windows movie
maker and no problems, but now i have about half the music video done and i
would see when i stop the movie in the preview box and restart in the music
would be on right on with the video but when i move the little marker
backwards or forewords the music and movie get unsynchronized and the music
and video are about 10-20 seconds off from each other, but when i stop it and
play it again it is right on. this is really annoying and i cant finish my
video because it is just a pain in the neck to keep on stopping the video to
edit things. so if you could help that would be great thanks

well they are mpeg, and avi, is there any thing i can do to solve this? or am
i just going to have to covert them to the "right" files?

convert them to wmv and all should be fine, apps to do it here
