audio after saving movie

I'm working in WMM with a quicktime movie I converted to .avi using RAD (if
there's a better way please advise) While I'm editing the movie the sound is
fine, but after I save it and them play it back outside of WMM the sound is
very tinny. What could be causing this distortion?

Re: saving within WMM. I saved the edited .avi file using 'save as' and
saved with the avi extension. I didn't see any way to alter the audio while
saving. I did convert a short .mov file using MediaConvert and the sound is
fine after editing and saving, so thank you for the info. One remaining
problem. I tried to convert a larger file and MediaConvert said it's too
large to upload. I'm looking through their help section but I thought, while
I'm here . . .
