It's time for you all to goto Windows Update again. A few new updates come
out today. A few are listed below.

Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB824141)
A security issue has been identified that could allow an attacker to
compromise a computer running Microsoft Windows and gain control over it. To
attempt an attack, the attacker would have to be able to log on to the
computer. You can help protect your computer by installing this update from
Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your
computer.

Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Windows XP (KB826939)
This update consists of previously released critical updates, for Windows
XP, rolled into one convenient package. Installing this item provides you
the same results as installing the individual updates. After you install
this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Security Update for Windows (KB823182)
A security issue has been identified that could allow an attacker to
remotely compromise a computer running Microsoft Windows and gain complete
control over it. For example, an attacker could execute code on your system.
You can help protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft.
After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Chris, thanks for the reminder.
A couple of questions, if you don't mind. A few weeks ago I received a
notification in my systems tray concerning a critical update, so I clicked
on it .
To make a long story short, I suspected a problem, so I went to the MS
website and sure enough ,upon checking I needed that same Critical update,
so I installed it. A few days later I found "somewhere" on my system that
the previous update had loaded only 45%. Is there any problem with having
that partial update on my system and if I ever find it again , should it be
removed ?
Also, when it is known there are Critical updates, such as your reminder,
and the MS website , upon checking my system , says I do not need any , what
action should be taken to assure I do have all the Critical updates ?
Sorry to be so long winded & hope I provided enough information.

If you elect to install the "Rollup", is Windows Update smart enough to deal
correctly with systems in which some or all of the "previously released critical
updates" have already been installed?
