Attched email (.msg) files & Google Desktop Search compatibility?

Found my answer here regarding inability to open attached emails in Outlook
2003, it was due to Google Desktop Search. Just FYI, I first tried to stop
GDS indexing, but that wasn't sufficient, so had to uninstall GDS. Thank you
all for your expertise that you share with us.

I love GDS. Is there any way to have it on my PC without interfering with
Outlook?

did you tell it to not index email?

I was told this:
Opening Settings, Options and unchecking the "Use Documents and Spreadsheets
to open certain file types box corrects the problem without uninstalling
GDS.

Since I don't use it, I can't verify if that works... I'm not sure this
'fix' makes sense either, but since I don't use GDS....

I use ms desktop search not facing any problem opening msg files.
Besides the index of msg files is very good, much better than using
gds.
