attachments

I have received several word docs and I am not able to open them. I have
windows vista and just installed microsoft office home & student. I have
tried several things but nothing is working. any help? should I install
windows mail live?

Unable to open .DOC attachments directly from Windows Mail in Windows Vista:

If you intend to edit these files, you should save the attached files first,
close the message, then go open the saved file.

I will try these suggestions and let you know if I was able to open the
messages.

Dave, I have been able to open the attachments from following the
instructions. I have not installed windows live. I am a little shy in doing
so. I heard it has glitches. Is that true or just some talk, if you know.

All software has some 'glitches' or 'bugs'.
Windows Live Mail has far fewer glitches than Windows Mail, in part because
WLM benefitted from a much longer development cycle, and (unlike WM) is
receiving ongoing development support from Microsoft.
