attachments

I just bought a new HP computer and I'm running windows
XP. I would like to know why I can't open attachment
from friends? The attachments all have the "E" Internet
Explorer logo attached to them and when I double click to
open the attachment, it won't open.

I could sure use some help or information on this

If you are using Outlook Express, go to Tools, Options, and click the
Security tab. Uncheck the box that says "Do not allow attachments to be
saved..." and click OK. This was a security feature to prevent so many
people from casually opening virus infected attachments.
