Attachments don't open after download of Microsoft Sasser patch

I did a virus scan, it was clean, then downloaded the Microsoft Sasser patch, and haven't been able to open any email attachments since then. I can't find a phone number to call Microsoft tech support- any help here would be appreciated! Thanks.

OE>Tools>Options>Security Tab. Uncheck: "Do not allow
attachments........."
