I have office 2k installed. When I open xls attachment in outlook. It gives
me an error" The system can't find the path specified."But if at the same
time excel is open then the xls attachement opens. But if Excel application
is not open then it give me the same errorr message while opening the xls
attachment.

There is no problem while opening word attachement.

What is the solution?

Sounds like a Outlook Secure Temp Folder issue to me. Use Google Groups to
search this group for one of the many posts about this topic.
