You expected focused and detailed replies based on the dearth of
details in your post? You provide no details, like:
- WHICH version of Outlook.
- WHICH version of Windows.
- What e-mail client and OS the recipient is using.
- WHAT type of object is being attached.
- HOW the object is being attached to the e-mail (copy-n-paste, Insert
menu, drag-n-drop, etc.).
- WHAT plug-ins are installed and active in Outlook.
I have the same issue. I am using Outlook 2010 as the sending e-mail via a POP3 server; d I'm receiving on gmail reached via the latest Chrome browser.
In addition to not being able to open these attachments at all - see error message described by first poster -- I do not have a choice between 'view' and 'download' on attachments from any source. I've read the directions and the set of instructions for creating a URL link to the attachment seemed ludicrous. Formerly I had both 'view' and 'download' so I'm wondering if the new AVG virus software has changed one of my settings.
