and I had been happy enough to confirm her findings.
After having "played" with the said issue for two days I think to be
able to say:
It seems that the latest "Update" (patch)
"Cumulative Security Update for IE8 for Windows Vista ... (KB972260)"
has - silently - cured the problem with WinMail-attachments.
On three of my systems everything seems to be fine now.
