attachment as winmail.dat

I have outlook 2000 installed on a WinMe OS. Whenever i
send an attachment (.doc or .pdf)by outlook email
facility, the reciever of the email gets the attachment in
the form of winmail.dat.

Kindly offer a solution for the same.
