attachements in outlook can't read

Just wondering if anybody is attachment savvy with
Outlook Express Professional. My students are trying to
send me attachments and my network administrator has done
something so I can't see them. He told me how to get them
once, but I can't recall how to. Does anyone here know
how I can set up the software so I can view my
attachments. Really appreciate knowing. Thanks DDBEY

Maybe this will help. Open OE/click Tools/click Options/click the
Security
tab/UNcheck; "Do not allow attachments......"/Apply/OK. ***Don't open
attachments from people you don't know.***

Where'd you ever find a copy of Outlook Express Professional. I'd like to

Your network admin did something sensible, which was to install all the
latest Winodws/IE updates.

The safest way to get the attachments - hit forward on the message you wish
to open the attachment from, and open the attachment from there. A trifle
inconvenient, but the added security will be worth it.

Or go to tools, options, security, and untick the box that blocks
attachments. Make sure you have very good AV software, kept updated
regularly, that also scans mail.

Also note - posting your valid e-mail address in a newsgroup post, or in
your news account settings, is a surefire way to get spam and SWEN and other
viruses sent to you....see http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help
in the future, but note that now that your address is out there, there's not
much you can do other than changing your address.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

There is no such thing as Outlook Express "Professional". Do you have
Outlook EXPRESS or plain Outlook? The solutions for each are VERY different.
