Hi
I'm interested in setting up a simple Hard disk test/diagnostic work bench
for Hard disks from the pc Windows world. (I'd also be interested to hear of
similar
solutions for other operating systems)
(Can one use a standard pc for this?)

Can one attach a new hard disk while the computer is running or does one
have to switch off first?

Any suggestions solutions?

Thanks

The only safe way to attach a drive while the PC is powered on is if it's
USB, IEEE1394, or some type of hot-swappable drive.
