Attach e-mail

Hi,

I'm having problems solving the following issue:
As you know, if you are composing a new e-mail and want to attach an
existing e-mail (from your inbox for example), one of the ways to do it is to
select that e-mail, go to Edit-copy, then go to the e-mail you're composing
and click paste (while the cursor is in the body of the message).

With one e-mail, which as far as i can see is not in any way different, when
i click paste, the headers (from, to, size, etc...) and corresponding
information are pasted instead (to better understand what i mean you can
click paste while the cursor is in the "To" field).

Outlook 2003.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

David

What exactly is the issue? You pinpointed the difference already; in your
first example you have your cursor in the body and in the second one in the
To: line. The To: line can only accept text and no objects so only the text
portion of your object is pasted.

Sorry i wasn't clear.
The issue is, with one of the e-mails in the inbox, it doesn't work. The
cursor is in the body of the message as it should be, and still it pastes
text (e.g. From: John Doe To: Jane Doe Date: 19-11-2007 and so forth) instead
of attaching the e-mail...

What if you just drag the message you want to attach from the Inbox to the
new message?

eheheh, that was my first thought.
Unfortunately, i'm an IT technician with a user on my back that replied
specifically 'no' to that suggestion...

Any other thoughts...?

Thanks for replying!

David

But the issue is only with that single message or is this a recurring issue
for other messages as well?
If the latter; see if you can find some sort of commonalities between the
messages. For instance; always from the same sender, message format,
contains attachments, etc...

It's with a single message.
I've been trying to follow the steps you mentioned, since when the issue was
first passed on to me, I went to the user's machine and repeated the process
at least 5 times without any problem, choosing random e-mails.

After i noticed it only happened with that one mail, i tried to find out
what made different, but so far no luck, it's puzzling... if i find anything
i'll post it.

Thanks.
David
