Atlantis III with DirectX7 and Windows XP home

Hi there,
I recently bought the German Version of Atlantis 3-the new world (Cryo )
on ebay.
It came in its original and sealed pack.
When I installed it, everything went fine until I was asked to install
DirectX7 ( on the rear of the package it says it comes with DirectX8) . My
computer gave me the error message:
ISDX_ERR.BADWINDOWSVERSION_entry not found in the string table.
When I try to play the game, the screen goes black and the game ends within
the first few scenes.
Does anyone know if Atlantis 3 is o.k with Windows XP home? Or do I have to
download a different DirectX version or does Atlantis 3 only run with
DirectX7? I also have Atlantis 2, and it is fine.
I would really love to play this game and I am very grateful if anyone could
help.

Not sure about the German version of the program, if you're running on a
non-German operating system, but DirectX is backward compatible. You
shouldn't need to install an older version of DirectX for the program to
work.
