ATi Vista Driver

Hi,

Well I have an ATi Radeon 9600 something lol, and theres a vista driver for
it on the Ati website, though should I install it? The graphic performance
is quite ok atm, on The Movies game (1 of 2 games installed) the mouse can
be a little slow (at times). but everything else is ok.

Also, I dont particularly like the Catalyst Control Cen. cos it slows my
comp down sometimes.

Marc,

You are using/testing a pre-release version of an operating system.
Obviously you have the choice to also test other pre release components that
may be released from other vendors and in particular hardware drivers. The
choice is yours if you wish to test the new ATI driver.
One way to look at it is - if this was a production/final OS would you use
the drivers that came with it or download the vendors specific ones?

Anyway you can always roll back to the Microsoft supplied driver if you are
not happy

In general, Microsoft doesn't write device drivers for periferals.

The periferal vendors submit drivers for Microsoft to include in the
releases. Then the vendors write better drivers for manufacturers to
download. End users like you and me download these generic drivers and
install them as well.
