ATI TV Wonder VE issues

Roger

I got myself the ATI TV Wonder VE Remote control edition and well it comes
with Multimedia Center 7.9. When I run the TV it works fine but sometimes it
hangs and stops working, also when I try to close the TV application it
freezes pretty much everytime and I have to restart my PC.

What exactly is the problem here? I have Windows XP and can I use the new
version of Multimedia Center instead of 7.9? I thought this was a new card.

I'm pretty positive it's a problem with the ATI software now. I downloaded a
trial version of WinDVR 3 and everything works perfectly with that software.
Any suggestions? Can I try Multimedia Center 8.5 and see how it goes?

I have the TV Wonder PCI not VE but I had to switch to WinDVR cuz I couldn't
get MMC to work correctly not matter which ver of ati's software I used.

I don't even bother installing the soft anymore when I reformat, with WinDVR
I timeshift and record and it works awesome.

Just my 2 cents :)

your right WinDVR 3 works great
the only thing is it cost more then the tv card but we might not have
any choice thanks

I have the same card. I am using mmc 7.9 and I have no hang ups at
all. I also have the ATI 9800 video card (256mb).
Don't know if that is why I have no problems. Could it be memory
problems on you video card?
Sound chip problem on your mother board?
I know there were issues on a Soyo board (dragon platinum).

I agree WinDVR is expensive ... or you could look around for a "discounted"
version :)

I am using 8.5 with win2k...should work even better with XP.

BTW WinDVR3 will not Timeshift etc with the Radeon cards...this is
documented on their web site, and I have to agree.
