Model of your Asus notebook?

Where did you get the driver that you "reinstalled"? If you got it from ATI
then you need to get the driver from Asus.

What procedure did you use to "reinstall" the driver and why did you remove
a video driver from the computer?

I've tried the drivers from asus site (my model is m6000 m6n) and the
window drivers (ati includes driver in windows now for this model
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...spx?type=2.4.2&product=2.4.2.3.1&lang=English).
The problem is that my monitor seems to be 1024X768, but it is 1280X800

According to Asus the normal (native) resolution for that laptop is 1024 X
768(4:3) and not 1280 X 800 (16:10.)

This should be a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor on this laptop and not a
widescreen one (16:9, 16:10 or so.) The closest widescreen resolution that
the video adaptor will run is 1280 X 768(16:9.)

You should always run an LCD screen at it's native resolution to obtain the
best video quality. When you go outside of it's native resolution the image
will generally distort.

No my pc is native 16:10 1280X800 and it has always been 1280X800. i'm
using it in ubuntu and it is 1280X800. in windows it is 1024X768 but
is distorted.
