Hi all, i'm having troubles with my ATI drivers both for vista x64 and x86,
tested both version (running now x86), after installing the latest beta
drivers from ATI, appear the name of my card, Radeon 9550 with the
exclamation mark and got this message "Error code (43Windows failed to
initialize drivers (or similar) in device manager". If i use the XP drivers
i got my both card (secondary too), can switch to better resolution but
can't use Aero cuz that is not a LDDM compatible drivers. Any one know
something about this?

My specs

AMD Athlon x64 4200+ x2
3Gb Ram
Giga-Byte Mobo k8nsnxp-939
Giga-Byte Radeon 9550 256 mb

thx

Hi
I have the same problem ati x1600 pro 512 meg the only driver that works is
from the original cd and since it is not wddm no aero/glass the interesting
thing is that the windows driver wddm cannot start error 43 I still do not
have the gaming graphics recognized

I saw in some post that the issue was the AGP to PCI brigde, in my case
NVIDIA nForce3 250 AGP Host to PCI Bridge. Since i'm using a nForce 3 250
chipset, the nvidia drivers for vista only came with audio and ethernet, no
chipset. So i use the XP driver wich recognized it but still nothing.
This is the forum where is saw that and i know i saw another one talking
about it
http://www.planetamd64.com/lofiversion/index.php/t23487.html

"Ok, found out the problem was with my AGP controller. I got it to work
using the XP SP2 mode then reinstalled the ATI drivers.

Now it is working."

If anyone know about this pls

I'm assuming he reran nvidia's xp driver setup using compatibility mode. In
explorer, right click on the nvidia setup file, go in to "properties" and
then "compatability" checkmark compatibility mode and set to "xp sp2"
compatibility, then run the file. Then try the ati drivers.

I read in a forum something about that, that the guy who did it worked but
everytime he shutdown or restart get a lil memory dump blue screen error,
but worked... i did it and now i got the blue screen error and guess what?
it's not working lol... Damn Murphy's law

I will do a clean instalation of vista and do that... but the drivers once
you got them installed the package doesnt install it, says your files are up
to date and do nothing... will do this weekend, so i will tell you guys in a
few days

I installed the Nforce 3 250 chipset in XP SP2 compatibility mode, meaning
the AGP to PCI brigde were updated, now none driver is working, the old xp2
one who was working but without aero and the vista beta...
