The full error: "The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be
located in the dynamic link lidrary GDI32.dll"

I have a ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128mb on Windows 2000, P4 2.8, 512mb. I
have the latest Catalyst software installed and DX9.0b. (I can provide
more info if required).

I get the above error when I start DXDIAG. I also get the same sort of
error when trying to run the Direct3D test (this error includes a HEX
number). The first test is ok (Using DX7 interfaces), but fails on the
2nd test.

I have run 3DMark2001, and 3DMark2003 on my PC and these run fine. I
have also not had any problems running - RB6 Raven Shield, and Medal
of Honour, and Battelfield 1942. Does this mean all is okay?

How can I test the DX9 capabilities etc without using DXDiag?

I have seen quite a few posts about this error, but yet to find a
solution.

Thanks

I just found out something interesting regarding this on my work PC,
but yet to try it out on my home PC...

I performed a search in C:\WINNT for DXDIAG.EXE and it came back with
the following results:

There are DXDIAG.EXE programs in the following locations:

"C:\WINNT\RegisteredPackages\{44BBA855-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}"
"C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386"
"C:\WINNT\system32"

I then automatically run the first instance - the DXDIAG.EXE in
"C:\WINNT\RegisteredPackages\{44BBA855-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}"
and got the exact same errors as on my home PC.

I then ran the DXDIAG.EXE in "C:\WINNT\system32" and it worked fine.
So I am going to try the same on my home PC. It looks like you should
always run the program "C:\WINNT\system32\DXDIAG.EXE".

The one in "C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386" reports that it is using
DirectX version 4.09!!!

I hope this helps others too.

How about re-installing DX9 first, seemingly a component of it is corrupted!
