At logon I'm told I have unread emails, but Outlook has none.

I have Windows XP and Microsoft Outlook, and am not on a network. Frequently
when I logon to my computer, there is a message next to my user name on the
logon page saying I have unread email messages. In Outlook, there are no
unread messages listed in any folder. AntiSpam also contains no unread
messages. How do I find these unread messages, or turn off this alert, if it
is erroneous?
