Asus P5WD2 Hard Drive Cabling help needed

I have just built my 5th computer, love this card, but having trouble. I
want to boot from a Serial ATA drive, put two DVD burners on the PRI IDE,
and use two additional hard drives (not raid) on the PRI EIDE . On boot,
the Serial ATA is detected, but not the two drives on the PRI EIDE. I did
not change the BIOS, as when I read over it, could live with everything as
it was to get the system running. Would appreciate your comments. Thanks

Have you installed the 8211 driver in Windows ?

After that, go into Disk Management and see if they are there.

As for the BIOS, you may only see the drives in the Boot Menu.
And the manual mentions that if you connect an optical drive
to the 8211, you cannot boot from it. They don't say anything
about hard drives, so they should work.

If you wanted to install the OS on the 8211 connected hard drive,
I would use F6 early in the install, and install the 8211
drivers. You would need to copy the driver package to a
floppy diskette in that case.
