Asus 9600Se drivers?

hi:
what are the lastest drivers available for the asus Radeon 9600SE for XP?
i installed this card in a new system and the card seems to be the source of
the instability.
asus drivers from their website for 9600 series do not work.
are there any known issues with the 9600se?

The latest ones on the ATI driver download page.

That's quite true. I found, however, with an ASUS 9600XT under W98SE
that it (and my system) ran better with ASUS' version of an Ati driver
than with the equivalent driver from Ati's site.

YMMV. Only way to see which will be best for your card, OS and
machine is to try them. Additionally, the last couple of Ati drivers
have seemed to be slower than some previous ones, but contain more
fixes: if they don't contain fixes for what you are running (see the
"what's fixed in this version" notes) Catalyst 4.1 or earlier (which
ASUS do versions of) might be better for you anyway.

ok...i have isolated the problem. it is not the ram cuz i put it in another
computer and runs fine. the cpu is not overheating according to bios. the
cause of my new system rebooting is the agp Asus Radeon 9600SE!
i put in an old pci card into the machine and its been running solid.
suprise suprise another ati radeon issue! (had a maor issue with a radeon
7500 on a K7S5A board a few years back!)

question now becomes....what is the "Start from scratch" approach to getting
rid of the video drivers and finding drivers that work with my setup?

my set up:
Asus A7VX8X-X mother board
AMD Athlon XP2000 Cpu
512k DDR400 Ram
SB Live! 5.1 Soundcard
WD 120Gb 7200rpm h.d.

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't done so, turn off Fastwrites in the bios, and try
different AGP aperture vales, 64, 128 (the most common), or 256.

They are options that will be in your BIOS options, accessed probably
by holding down Delete while booting your machine.
