Problems with ATI 9600SE

Rob W.

I recently built a new computer. It has an Asus motherboard P4P800
Deluxe, P4 2.8 gig with 800FSB 512 DDR for memory..These motherboards
only support 1.5volts (can't use 3.3volts)..I bought a Radeon 9600SE
(AGP)tried to install
it and in the device manager I have 2 listings..Standard PCI Graphic
adapter and Standard PCI Graphic adapter(VGA)..I have tried to
install the drivers from the cd but an error kepts coming up asking me
to install it through the Standard VGA adapter...I tried to do it
throught the device manager but when you restart,it puts it back as
the Standard PCI Graphic adapter (VGA)..I have no video on the
motherboard so I am assuming that the card must somewhat be
working..thanks Rob

you problem might be solved by going to the ATI website. they have a
problem with a certain set of cds that were sent out. they do not
have the drivers that are needed to properly install the video card.
i had that problem and was getting an error. so i checked the website
and turns out i had the cd number that was the bad cd. but all you
have to do is download the drivers and all from their website and it
should work. mine works fine. hope this helps.
