Assigning drive letters to a device

My USB card reader takes a bunch of my first drive letters. Can I force my
machine to use the CD Rom, DVD Rom, and Zip drives to get the first letters
and then my reader. If so, how do I do this Im using XP Pro

Right click on My Computer and select Manage... on the following screen,
click on Disk Management.

You can reassign drive letters here....

You're welcome!

Now you just have to remember which is which (or at least I do.... three
hard drives (one in two partitions) one DVD burner, two removable storage
drives.....!!!

Oh and the rest of the network as well (3 more PCs, all with at least two
hard drives each).... But one thing you rarely hear me say is "Where did I
put that file!"... my file storage system seems to work very well!
