assign the same drive letter to the usb port everytime no matter what is pluged in

I want to know if there is a hack for this or a minor adjustment for
assigning same drive letter to the same USB port everytime no matter
what is plugged in. For example, if I have 2 USB ports, port 1 and
port2. I want to plug in any USB device into port2 and it will always
assign drive letter x:. If I take out that USB device and plug in
another pen drive, it will get assigned drive letter x:

I hope this makes sense

Doesn't work that way. Drive letter assignments are based against
the inserted device, not the USB ports themselves. Once a device
is inserted and enumerated it gets assigned the next available letter
unless you've manually assigned it a letter. Once assigned, XP will
re-use that letter the next time that device is inserted. If the device
is a Full Speed or USB 1.0 device it's possible for it to be seen as
a new instance of the device when plugged into a different socket
and the driver letter retention will not work.
