assign a unique IRQ to agp slot

Good day to everybody. I have a problem when playing 3d
games, coz it freezes/hangs my system.
I contacted the video card manufacturer and they told me
to assign a single IRQ to the AGP slot. There are 2 other
devices sharing my IRQ slot
I'd like to know how it can be done.
I'm running an athlon 64 on Asus k8v deluxe with MSI
fx5200 vtd128. The BIOS is ACPI enabled and my Plug n
play O/S is set to no.
I have read some articles in the KB and it says that I
have to reinstall winxp and manually configure the IRQ. I
just like to know if there are other ways and how
(detailed please).
Thank you in advance

JR, did you try any other Nvidia Drivers. You may take a few tries
before you get the right one for your system. WinXP
handles the IRQ assignments very well and even though it shares with
other devices it's not like much older systems that
use to have IRQ conflicts. Also, back off on your memory timings abit.

I agree. Manually configuring IRQs is so "90s". That tech at the video
card company is probably trying to sidetrack you.

According to this article, you would probably have to reinstall Windows and
select an alternate "hardware abstraction layer" if you actually want to
tweak IRQ assignments manually. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314068
