ASR Seems to want to backup entire drive

Hi. I'm using the ASR Wizard to create an ASR backup and diskette.
According to Microsoft articles regarding ASR, it only backs up the important
system files to recover the OS. When I start the process, it seems to
process and want to backup all 12 GB of the 'C' drive. Has anyone
successfully been through this process? If so, did it act in this manner,
and approximately how large is this backup?

Thanks.

That's right. It wouldn't be much of a recovery option if it did not backup
the entire Windows drive.

I've used it and don't care for it at all. I much prefer to use third party
software. My preference is Acronis TrueImage.
