I'm about to make some manual changes to my registry and thought I'd use ERD for it.
ERD doesn't exist in XP land, just W2000, NT, etc. ASR seems to be the only choice
but operationally it seems almost unfathomable. For example, it seems impossible to
avoid saving all files on my C-drive. The selection dialog is unreachable once you go
down the ASR path. All I think I want saved somewhere is the registry and whatever it
needs, the minimal amount to recover a damaged registry.
Another choice exists, ERUNT. It looks like a sensible choice, and the author
mentions many deficiencies of ASR. I have not used ERUNT yet, but it looks as this
point a better alternative to recovery. Comments?
